Ironwood Farm is a 120-acre equine boarding, training and riding facility located on Highway 25 North at Highway 16, just south of Carthage, Mississippi.  We are currently under construction and plan to open Fall 2008.  See our Photo Book for progress reports and pictures of our barn. We are currently taking advance registrations.

We offer:

• full monthly boarding at $400 per month (see below for details of services included)
• day use rentals (use of training & riding facilities) - $15
• overnight rentals (use of training & riding facility, one stall with shavings and one RV site with power & water) -$40
• overnight lay-up (one stall with shavings and one RV site with power & water) -$25

This fall we will begin our weekly "rodeo" events... check our "Rodeo Events" page for dates, times, events, and Prizes. 

Beginning spring 2009 we will offer day camps, youth retreats, equine clinics and other events.  Check "Upcoming Events" for updates or request to be added to our events mailing list.

Equestrians with special needs are welcome at our facility - in fact, we have designed all our arenas and event areas to the requirements set forth by the Special Olympics committee.  Beginning Spring 2009 will be begin our "Special Equestrians" program designed to provide lessons, training, and events for horse lovers with special needs.

Boarding Barn

Our boarding barn is state-of-the-art with the followig:

One (1) 12'x18' foaling stall with 50'x54' attached paddock.

Fifteen (15) 12'x12' stalls, 14 with 12'x50' attached run & 1 with a 50' x 54' paddock.

All stalls include:

• individual feed bins 
• individual tack locker 
• automatic waterers
• grilled front and sides for ventilation
• rubber mat flooring for comfort

The barn also includes:

• kitchen

• laundry

• bathroom

• washrack with overhead sprayboom; drop-down workbenches for vet and farrier use

• 24-hour on-site manager

Full rental includes:

• Hay

• Feed

• Shavings

• Turn out

• Yearly worming program

• Six (6) hoof trims per year

• Holding for ferrier & vet services

• Monthly bath  

• Full use of facility

• Free entry into rodeo events (up to 8 free runs per month) per boarded horse

Training & Riding Facilities

Our facilities include:

• 130’ x 180’ dedicated Barrel arena with electronic timing devices

• 40’ x 150’ dedicated Pole Bending arena with electronic timing devices

• 100' x 200' warm-up / all-purpose

• 220’ x 220’ roping / team penning /all-purpose arena

• 66’ round pen for training & smaller starter pen

• Working & western trail training areas with control, agility & calmness obstacles

• Exercise track 

• 100 acres of wooded and open pasture riding trails

Day Use, Overnight Rentals & Overnight Lay-ups

Day Rental - Day rentals allow full use of the training and riding facilites for the day, anytime from daylight until dark.  Day rentals are $15 per horse. Reservations and proof of coggins required.

Overnight Rental - Overnight rentals allow full use of the training and riding facilities for a 24-hour period.  Overnight rentals include one 12'x12' stall (with shavings) located in our shed row barn and one RV site with power and water hook-ups (sewer dump onsite).  Overnight rentals are designed for individuals who want to spend a few days working with, or just enjoying, their horse. Overnight rentals are $40; Reservations and proof of coggins required.  

Overnight Lay-up - Overnight lay-ups include one 12'x12' stall (with shavings) located in our shed row barn and one RV site with power and water hook-ups (sewer dump onsite).  Overnight lay-ups are designed for individuals traveling with their horse and need a place for both horse and owner to rest. $25; Proof of coggins required.
